He m. 1) Catharine SCOTT (maiden name comes from son David's death certificate) b. abt. 1806 Greene Co., PA (birth place comes from son David's death certificate); d. abt. 1843 Knox Co., OH (later became Morrow Co., OH). Their marriage date abt. 1824 in PA or OH. They had:

2) Girl b. abt. 1827
3) Boy b. abt. 1829
4) Sarah b. Dec. 3, 1831 Knox Co., OH (later Morrow Co., OH); d. Aug. 21, 1873 Franklin Twp., Fulton Co., OH.
5) William b. Oct. 1, 1834 Knox Co., OH (later Morrow Co., OH); d. Dec. 9, 1918 Cameron, Clinton Co., OH. Buried on Dec. 11, 1918 in Evergreen Cemetery - Cameron, Clinton Co., MO. He m. Elizabeth TRUEX.
6) Catharine b. 1837 Knox Co., OH (later Morrow Co., OH); d. after 1880
7) John b. 1840 Franklin Twp., Knox Co., OH (later Morrow Co., OH); d. after 1880. He m. Sarah.
8) David b. Sept. 10, 1842 Knox Co., OH (later Morrow Co., OH); d. Feb. 16, 1914 DeKalb Co., MO. Buried on Feb. 18, 1914 in Fairport Cemetery - Fairport, DeKalb Co., MO. He m. EmmaMary TITCOMB.
After Catharine (SCOTT) STOCKDALE died, William A. STOCKDALE m. 2) Hannah STEPHENS on April 5, 1849 Morrow Co., OH. She was b. May 1, 1812 OH; d. Nov. 20, 1879 Franklin Twp., Fulton Co., OH. They had:
1) Leander b. Oct. 11, 1850
2) Lenora b. 1853
