Porter, Brown, McCulley

My ggg-grandmother was Elizabeth Brown, birth date unknown but probably early 1800's. Supposedly her father, unknown Brown, had a shoe factory in Steubenville that was raided by the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Her father would have been very old in the 1860's so it's probable another family member was running the shoe factory at the time of the raid.

Elizabeth married an unknown Porter and I know nothing about him or his family.

Elizabeth and Mr. Porter had 5 chilren known to me. Their daughter Mary Ann (Emma?) Porter (1827-1896) married my gg-grandfather Thomas Jefferson McCulley (McCully, McCullough). Other siblings were Liz, who married a Squire or Buchanan; Mattie who married a Beck, unknown female who married a Hayes; and a brother frank who married Aunl Lib (that's all I know about her).

Frank and Aunt Lib had John, Laura, Charlie and Frank.

It's said thomas Jefferson McCully was Scotch-Irish and lived in West Virginia or Virginia as a child.

If anyone can make a connection I'd love to hear from you.
