Recently rechecked the 1820 census for smithfield/Mt. Pleasant and..(could not read the film several years ago. perhaps this is a new copy)..............
found a Sarah Paxton, head of household........
2 1 1 2 0 0 1 1 1 1 Mt. Pleasant, Jeff Co., Ohio
Correct me, please, if I am wrong.
this means ............
2 males b/after 1810 1 female b/after 1810
1 male b/1804-1810 1 female b/1804 - 1810
1 male b/1802-1804 1 female b/1794 - 1804
2 males b/1794 1802 1 female b/1775 - 1794.

My immediate family Paxton gal is Sarah b/1810 in VA.
that could take care of one female. She was in the area by 1830 to m/David DeYARMON (b/1803 in Philadelphia). Sarah and David are buried at Highland Cemetery in Mt. P.
Sarah, HOH, could be the female b/1775-1794....In the 1820 census, Sarah HOH, is five houses from David DeYarmon.SR.
For the males....AND this is strickly GUESSTIMATION....
Thomas b/about 1801 Loudoun Co., VA m/#2 Sarah Mc Cormick

Amos b/1804. Traveled to Iowa with above David deYarmon. Amos married and remained in Iowa. David's (JR) sister Sarah Ann, b/1809 in Jeff Co., m/Nathan Crowley and later moved across the Ohio River into Ohio/Brooke WV. Sarah and Nathan later moved to Illinois and Iowa. Wife of Amos & husband of Sarah Ann died. Amos and Sarah Ann m/in Iowa.

James H.paxSon b/1807 in Loudoun Co., VA m/Nancy Ann ROUSE
possible second marriage because census shows that they have a son, George W. b/1841 Ohio. James and Nancy weren't married until 1846 and the second child, Elizabeth, b/1847
James H.& Nancy lived near Sarah b/1810 and David. also buried at Highland cemetery. I did find a James that m/Sarah WILLIS 21 March 1839. Could this be the mother of George W. b/1841?????

Eaton, b/1818 in PA m/#1 or #2 Luiza. This couple is found in later census of Smithfield.

Since Thomas & James H. were b/in VA and Eaton was b/PA....
could they have left Loudoun Co., VA moved into PA and then Jefferson Co., Ohio????

OH YEA!! I have checked and rechecked the Hinshaw books and thus far, have found nothing...........
IF!! all these ladies and gents are of the same family.....
Eaton b/1818 in PA and another son, b/after 1810 Papa Paxton/Paxson could have died after the birth of Eaton. But WHY did they come into Jefferson Co., Ohio???? I did find several of the surname migrating from VA and PA into Columbiana Co., Ohio.

Any assistance, proof/disproof, corrections, additions are appreciated and very much welcome
Audrey, transplant from Jefferson Co., Ohio to Florida.
