This is the will of William Risinger who married Mary Grim in Jefferson Co 1808. Anyone with info about his family, please contact me. Many Thanks, Janet Currie William Risinger's Will In the name of God, Amen. I William Rysinger of Richmond, Jefferson County, Ohio, Being of Sound Mind and memory, and in the enjoyment of comforts and able health, but believing at the same time, that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, To wit: First of all I command my Immortal Soul to God, who gave it, and my body to the dust, to be Buried in a decent and Christian like manner, under the directions of my surviving friends, and as to the Worldly goods, wherewith it has pleased God to bless me, it is my will and I do hereby order that they should be disposed as follows. 1st – That all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid, the balance of my property, both real, and personal, I hereby will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Risinger, during her natural life, (should she survive me) and at her death, it is my will that it shall be sold by my executor herein after named, and the proceeds thereof distributed as follows, towit, One half thereof equally between my said wife’s Brothers, and Sisters, that is to say, Joseph Grim, Sarah Grim, Andrew Grim, Peter Grim, Manuel Grim, & Lidia Grim, to be theirs, their heirs and assigns forever. The other half, as follows, to my Brother John Risinger I will and bequeath the sum of Two dollars. I also will and bequeath to John Herren’s son William Herren the sum of one hundred dollars – and to George Risinger (son of George Risinger) the sum of one hundred dollars – and to Alexander Brown (who I raised) the sum of one hundred dollars, to be theirs, their heirs and assigns forever – should the one half of my estate hold out to distribute that amount, if not, in the same proportion between them. And lastly I constitute, and appoint my friend Emanuel Grim, the Executor of this my last Will and Testament. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made In testimony whereof I have unto set my hand and seal, this 21st day of June A. D. 1849. William Risinger (seal) Signed, sealed, and declared by The said William Risinger as his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at His request signed the same As witnesses: Thomas Burns, Robert Moore Testimony to Will The State of Ohio Probate Court Jefferson County Tuesday, March 21st, 1854 I Thomas Burns, having been duly sworn by the Judges of the Probate Court of said County, do Solemnly swear that I was present at the Execution of the last will and testament of William Risinger late of the Township of Salem, in Said County, deceased which will is now Exhibited to me, that I saw the same Testator subscribe said Will, and heard him acknowledge, publish, and declare the same to by his last will and testament, and that said Testator at the time of Executing the Same was of full age and of Sound mind and memory, and not under any restraint, and that I attested and Subscribed the Same in his presence, and in the presence of the other witness, who subscribed the same in my presence, but is since deceased. Thomas Burns Sworn to and subscribed before me, the day and year above written Jn K Sutherland, Probate Judge Robert Talbott, being duly affirmed Says that the name of Robert Moore appearing as to witness to the will of said William Risinger's, appears to be in the hand writing of said Moore.
