Fox/Scofield

Looking for information on Absalom Fox and Amanda Ingersoll.

From the Portrait and Biographical Album of Ionia and Montcalm Counties, Mich: it states Absalom and Amanda were married in Lebanon. Amanda was born in the Empire State, NY, and the daughter of Ralph Ingersoll. I did find a marriage consent for them on 5th March 1823 (Warren Co Marriage Consents, Ohio 1803 - 1903). Both fathers consented for them (Jonathan Fox and Ralph Ingersoll). It states they had three children. I did find a D. B. Fox. Absalom born Lebanon, Ohio.

My Amanda was born 14 Oct. 1800 Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY, and died 6th Feb. 1874 Clinton Co., MI. I believe she is my 4th great-grandmother.

Also it states Amanda went to Reading, NY with the eldest child (age 4) born Feb. 28, 1824 Lebanon, Ohio. Than to Kirtland, Ohio. Then returned to Huron Co. in 1838 to 1858. She did have family who settled in Huron Co. My 3rd great-grandfather William Scofield was born in 1832 NY (mother Amanda Ingersoll Scofield).

I did find a 1845 plot map with a Aranius Scofield. According to our family bible it says she married an Ananis.

What I would like is more information on Absalom Fox, his date of birth and death/buried, etc. If they got a divorce or not. What kind of live they had, etc. If Amanda did remarry a Scofield, was it in Ohio or NY.

Everything I have fits in with this family. Any help would be greatly appricated.

Sincerely, Karen
