Shirley, I revisited the information in your previous post. Joshua and Hannah are the parents of Phebe (Hinckley) Schenck and Benjamin H. Hinckley, so this is a nice family grouping and fits well with other sources. But even more interesting is Mary Geer and Abigail (Geer) Smith, who are the sisters of Jabez Gere's father. So Jabez may have been invited to come to Ohio by his aunts! Is Nehemiah Smith also buried in the same Hester cemetery as his wife? And is there any way to establish when Nehemiah came to Huron County? There is a Nehemiah D. Smith in Huron Co. in the 1820 census, but not the 1830 or 1840? Abigail is there in the 1850 census.
