frank adelbert speaker

I am looking for help with a brick wall. We need to find the parents of Frank Adelbert Speaker who was born, we believe in Huron, on December 2, 1855. His mother was an Ohio native with the Evans surname; his father was Prussian and was named Speaker. This is spelled out on Frank's death certificate in 1944. Frank Adelbert Speaker became Frank Adelbert Kelley in 1900 when Captain Henry Kelley, his foster father, legally had the named changed and made him heir to the Kelley estate.

Family oral history tells us that the Speaker father was supposedly killed on one of the Captain's ship when he fell off a mast. The mother brought her 22 month old son to the Kelleys and they raised him when she could not. That would have been in the fall of 1857.

Thank you.
