James DeElton Gregory born 1867 in probably Barry County, of Michigan;
married Sophronia ‘Belle’ Snider (some say Snyder) born about 1875 in Canada (probably Ontario), and of Wise, Isabella County, Michigan –
married February 22, 1894 in Wise, Isabella County, Michigan.
They had 5 sons and 1 daughter.
It is said that in 1910 when his Aunt Rosamund Banta died, James inherited her property and moved to Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio with his wife Belle and 5 sons.
(There is a Belle Snider Banta buried in Huron County, Ohio).
Belle’s father was: Peter Snider (Snyder).
Rosamund Dickinson born about 1848 in Huron County, Ohio and died before October 5, 1911 in probably Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio at about age 63 years;
married George W. Banta born March 01, 1846 in Ohio and died March 27, 1869 in probably Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio at age 23 years and 26 days –
married on April 07, 1868 in Huron County, Ohio.
Rosamund Banta was in the 1880 Census for Ridgefield, Huron County, Ohio, a widow age 32, living with son George age 10.
In 1905 Mrs. Rosamund Banta, widow, lived in Monroeville, Ridgefield Twp, on 20 acres, with son George W. Banta.
When Rosamund died she left her estate to her nephew James DeElton Gregory, so he moved his wife Belle Snider Gregory and his family of 5 sons to Ohio, it is said.
Rosamund and George had 2 children:
1. Frankie L. Banta a son born February 07, 1868 and died in infancy April 21, 1869 at age 1 year, 2 months and 14 days – just 24 days after his father died, both in probably Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio –
buried Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville, Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio.
The birth date of Frankie is before his parent’s marriage, so he may have been born a year later in 1869 and died at age 2 months and 14 days.
2. George W. Banta born 1869 and died December 12, 1907 both in probably Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio at about age 38 years – buried Riverside Cemetery, Ridgefield Township, Huron County, Ohio.
