Beardsley & Kennan Families, Norwalk, Ohio

Hello:

I am a historian completing a book that includes one chapter on Norwalk, Ohio; specifically, on an 1848 lawsuit between the lawyer Jairus Kennan and dry goods merchants John and Horace Beardsley (brothers).

I am interested in being in touch with descendants of either family.

Jairus Kennan (d. 1888) had 9 children.

John Beardsley (1807-1887) married twice, to Mary Rutherford (divorced 1856) and later Philea Ann Frayer (both women died 1881). He had three daughters: Ada (Mrs. Frank) Shaw (d. 1936, Sinclairville, N.Y.), Grace Marsh (Newark, NJ), and Mary E. Howells Whiting (Mrs. William Henry Whiting, Lancaster and East Liverpoool Ohio).

In addition, Mary Rutherford Beardsley's obituary mentions a granddaughter, Mrs. H.C. Dimler.

Horace (d. 1886) had one daughter, Emma Beardsley of New York City.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information about these families.

Sincerely,

Scott
