Elizabeth Johnston .. who was her father?

John Castor (1795 VA to 2 July 1876 Daviess County, Missouri) married Elizabeth Bell (1799 VA to 12 July 1873 Daviess County, Missouri). They had at least 10 children and all of them were born in Ohio .. probably Holmes County.

John's daughter, Sarah (28 Dec 1817 Holmes County, Ohio to 20 July 1902 Daviess County, MO) married James Johnston (28 March 1817 Holmes County OH to 28 November 1862 during the Civil War, Daviess County MO). They had a number of children most of whom were born in Ohio.

John Castor, all his male children, James & Sarah and all their children came to Daviess County MO about 1840 or 1841.

I know all this, but have failed to locate James' father. There is a James Johnston living near John Castor in Holmes County, but he does not have the right age group of children to be James' father. There is a William, but not enough information is attached to him.

I was wondering if you had information about your Elizabeth Johnston .. where she lived and who her parents were. She may provide a clue about James and the Johnston family.
