It's certainly possible there is a connection, but one would need to trace your grandfather and find out when and where he was born. Since your father was born in 1911, you might be able to find your grandfather in the 1910 or 1920 census and then discover when and where he was born. The next step would be to tie him into one of the known Joseph Butler (d. 1811) descendent lines. If you can do step 1, I can help on step 2.
