I checked the early records for the Gage family, and found no marriage for Lewis. I found 8 gage marriages from 1857 to 1891.

There were these deaths:
Ira W. born in Lancasteer NY died in Ho. Co. on 7-30-1887
age 63 cod cholera
Elgin born & died in Logan, on 2-19-1902 age 18y 10m 4d cod spinal meningitis
George G. born in Alden NY died in Logan on 12-13-1908
age 64y 5m 1d cod heart trouble (son of Ira & Lucy Surah?)
I hope this helps. I copied them because of the place of birth listed.
