Hello,
I am researching my ancestry and found that my great great grandparents came to Hocking County sometime around 1842 from New York. Their names are James and Nancy Carpenter. They had at least nine children and two of their children were born in Hocking County. As you can see below, Nelson was born in 1843 and Phebe in 1847. Can anyone help me find more information on this family? Marriages, deaths, where they moved to, where are they buried? Also, does anyone have access to 1845-1860 microfilm of local newspapers? Two older sons moved away sometime between 1842 and 1850. Their names were William and James.
