House Bill to ELIMINATE uncertified copies of vital records
The Ohio House of Representivies has passed a bill to eliminate the uncertified copies of vital records. It will come up before the Ohio Senate soon.
This bill will also add a $5 surcharge to what is already charged for a certified copy (raising the total cost of a single document to anywhere between $12 and $17, depending on the agency). It would create a "certification of birth" which does not require the parents names to be listed.
