Looking for information. I am working on a hunch here, from old family 'stories'.

My g'g'grandfather, Henry House Moore married Mary "Polly" Ankrom or Tilton on 20 SEP 1850.

**The 'story'. Mary "Polly" was married previously to a man surnamed Ankrom, he died in the typhus epidemic about 1849/50. Are there any records to show this, the death of Ankrom, or marriage to Polly??

In the 1850 Census she is listed as Polly in the census record of the Samuel H. Moore family, Henry's father. (The census was done 6 days after the marriage) I noticed that Vinton County was formed in 1850.

In the Hocking>Jackson Twp. 1840 I can find several Ankrom families, 2 who have listed a daughter within the age group, one family in Harrison>Stock. I have yet to pin point the record for Samuel Moore and family.

By chance, would you know where to look. It has been over a year searching!!

Thanks,
PJ
