Hi Gary
I checked my old tax duplicate list for 1836 and found that Seth L. Davis owned property in Green township as described:
range 16, township 13, sections 3&4
there was also a Ramus Davis, (heirs of) listed in R 16, T 13, S 9&10

They were both listed in 1838, as was a Henry Davis, R 16, T 13, S 27&28.

They were again listed in 1839 as owning the same properties. There was a William Davis listed as owning chattel, which would have been either, and/or horse or cow.

The 1876 plat map is the earliest we have and it shown Thos. Davis, H Davis, and Wm Davis owning land is section 10 of Green twp. This is aproximately where Davis Chapel Cemetery is located. Wm. Davis also owned land in sections 9 & 15.
I do not read the Ohio River Survey descriptions at all. I don't understand them. The best place to find out is the maping dept of our local court house. As far as the township atlas map goes I do have that, and the copies of the early property tax records we recently found, that I just giave you.

Hope this helps somewhat.
