Maxwell families

On the 1850 census of Hocking County there
is listed from an index file:
Morgan MAXWELL and
Samuel MAXWELL
If anyone has any information on these
families, would sure appreciate hearing
from you. Am trying to piece together
the family of 5th great grandfather, James
Maxwell b. 1755/56 (prob. Pa. or Md.) Resided
in Butler Co. circa 1818-1838 - from Rostraver
twp. Westmoreland Co. Pa. circa 1783-1818
Served Rev. War 1776-1780
He died 1 July 1838 in Beaver County Pa.
It is believed he was returning from a
visit to his son who lived in Muskingum
County Ohio..... Many of his grandchildren
later migrating to Hocking Co. Ohio.
Affiliated surnames include: Morgan, Hammond,
Steele, Harbison, Greer, Hamblin, Campbell,
Craig, Wright, Johnston, Henry, Reasoner.
Thanks so much for any help!!!
