I think I can give you some more information on the McCunes. I am not descended from William Palmer and Ellen Eliza McCune, but am from William's older brother, John Palmer b. 6 Apr 1835, d. 8 Mar 1917. Parents of William and John were James (b. 1809) and Nancy Palmer.

You may have some of this information, but if not: Ellen Eliza McCune's parents were Dr. Alexander McCune (b. 28 Dec 1806 in Allegheny Co., PA) and Amanda Craiger (2nd wife?). Ellen's siblings were Hilas, Rufus, Hiram, Margaret E., Isabel, and Emily. Dr. Alexander's first wife (?) was Margaret Crawford with whom he had two children, Henry and Alexander M. McCune.

William Palmer and Ellen Eliza McCune's children:

James A., Emma Isabel, Rufus, Augustine, Hiram, Nancy Eliza, Verda Alma (Verdie), Florence, Rosannah, Jennie, Clarissa.

I can give you dates and spouses for most of these if you need them. The above information comes from my maternal grandmother, Luretta McLin Palmer, but I have confirmed it in census records and the History of Hocking County.

I would be interested in any more information on the descendents of William and Ellen Eliza Palmer that you could provide.

Thanks! (cousin)

Steve McVey
