Brush Creek - Woods
John Woods, b. Abt 1775 VA, supposedly married to a Mary (Polly) Knicely but I haven't found proof yet.
He shows up in the Highland County Deed Book 4 on 16 Mar 1814. When he is appointed Guardian of Isaac M. & Mary Woods. With Surety by Anthony Franklin.
(Now guardianship could have been appointed because his wife died, got sick, or they split up) What I find interesting is that three days later:
19 Mar 1814 - Anthony Franklin & Polly (Mary) his wife, sell to John Woods, 153 acres. (Is this John's ex-wife?)
8 Aug 1815 - John WOODS appointed Guardian of David Woods aged 15 years in Oct. last, Joseph WOODS aged 11 years of Dec., last, Julian Woods 3 years old July 3rd last. Sureties: Jonathan Boyd, John Middleton.
1820 Brush Creek, Highland, Ohio Census states:

John Woods
4 Mar 1823 - John Woods to John Tirkehizer, 15A (I've read that John Turkeyhiser shortened his name to John T. Hiser, I'm not sure if he was only a nieghbor or if he marries into the Woods family.)
1 Aug 1825 - John Woods to George Bell, 243A "John WOODS will pay to the said George Bell fifty dollars...and also that...John WOODS will pay to Isaac, David, Joseph, Wm., and Jacob and July Ann Woods and to Mary Kinsley, late Mary WOODS" $402, "money recieved by him as thier guardian from Estate of John Kinsley, dec'd devised by said John Kinsley dec'd to said Woods..." (The surname Kinsley could be Knisley)
5 Aug 1825 - John Woods to Joseph Woods, 30A
5 Aug 1825 - John Woods to David Woods, 20A
