I've had to do a bit of Highland County JOHNSON research as some of my branches have married into the Johnson's.Not all the Johnson being of the same roots.Very confusing at times to say the least.Plus many had more than one wife.
Many were Quakers. Many families repeated same names for children.Anyway I thought you might like this info even if they aren't related sometimes it's helpful to know info if the surname is one your working on.
Jesse C. Johnson b 1776 of Goose Creek MM, VA; d 29 April 1845 Fairfield Twp., Highland Co., OH
(son of James Seneca "Governor" Johnson and wife 2 - Penelope Anthony 12 children)
Jesse had 3 wives.
1.married 4 Dec 1798 Greene Co., TN to Annie Stanfield b abt 1782 Green Co., TN; died before 1816
daughter of Thomas Stanfield and Hannah Vernon
2.married 4 Jan 1816 Highland Co., Ohio by Samuel Terrell, J Pto Mary "Polly" Burgess b abt 1795, d 2 Oct 1829-6 ch
daughter of Jonathan Burgess and 1st wife Margaret "Betty" Johnson
3.married 26 Jan 1837Highland Co., OHPhebe Bonecutter
Notes:
I have them figured as 3 cousins, once removed.Mary is a 2nd wife:
Johnson, Jesse m Mary Burgess Jan 4, 1816 Highland County, Ohio by Samuel Terrell J.P.

Penelope C.b 1824, 11, 13

Seems Jesse may have m again after Mary's death. It would be a 3rd marriage for him.
Two sources show this marriage but the dates confusing.
