Brenda,
I don't know why anyone said their records only go back to 1830 when it is actually 1805. There are some records missing, but the names can be found in the index.
The book I cited in my earlier post gives 25 Mar 1824 as the marriage date for John Holliday and Tamer Hiatt. Performed by Samuel McClure, Justice of the Peace in Faifield Twp. That is probably all the information available in the record. at that time, parents names and ages were notusually recorded. Occasionally, a parent gave permission or person age stated as over 18 or 21. McBride's listed these additional facts as they appear, but none were given for this marriage. Since the name of the man who performed this marrige is given that indicates there is a record. Unfortunately, McBride doesn't give volume or page numbers.
I sometimes can not tell if a person named Tamer was male or female. I believe Ithamer to be a man's name but it was sometimes shortened to Tamer (Tamar). Benjamin Hiatt had child born in 1798 in NC named Tamer in the Quaker records there but identified as his son, Ithamer, when they arrived in Highland County.
