Hello Bob
Thanks for replying to this message. The bridge that I am talking about is a small bridge on 506 just before you get to 753. I was born about half way between Carmel & the Rocky Fork Bridge where Beavers Mill used to be. My dad was Valentine (Tiney) Nichols. The story was told that him and another man were having a race on 506 from Marshall back toward Carmel. Of course the bridge was out but I guess that didn't stop them from doing it. If you have been in Carmel you can still see part of the little detour in the field beside where the old Carmel store used to be. I was born in 1954 and I was about 6 or 7 yrs. old when this happened. I was still going to school at Carmel. I remember seeing the car down inside of the bridge but as I said, I was to young to remember much about the wreck. If you can remember any thing about this or know of anyone who might can help me I would be very thankfull.
