Seeking burial information on Joseph Dickerson, b 11 Sep 1834 at Cadiz Twp, Harrison, Ohio, d 11 Oct 1913 at Cadiz Twp, Harrison, Ohio (according to his obit, "ten feet from where he was born"). Comrade Dickerson was promoted from Cpl to Full Capt in the 30th Ohio Infantry and served in Companies A, B, I, and K of that outfit. He was issued a Presidential Citation in 1865 for valor close to Medal of Honor heroism. He relocated to Washington Territory and from 1891 to 1913 was a member of Miller Post 31, GAR. Supposedly his middle name was Hugh, but I lack independent verification on that. He died shortly after the GAR's National Encampment in 1913, at which time he was unable to carry the department colors in the review due to extreme debility and old age; after the meetings he returned to his boyhood home, and collapsed there. His parents, Joseph (1796-1877) and Mary (1807-1857) Dickerson, are buried in the Dickerson Cemetery of Cadiz Twp, but his grave marker is not listed on the USGenWeb and Harrison County inventories. He is a prominent member of the GAR from Washington and I would like to get him listed on the SUV's web site, but without solid information on his burial location it would be inappropriate. He should have a Government US Shield "Late Modified Belknap" style grave marker. Anyone?
