Hi Guys, I just got my great great grandfather's Civil War papers from the National Archives today, and he lists his place of birth as Harrison County. He was born around 1837, and I have his father as being Abram Hixon and his mother as being Elizabeth Boyce Hixon. Where I got that info is anyone's guess ;-) Anyway, I did a census search for Harrison County and Hixon and the closest I could come to Abram was an Abner. Does anyone know anything about Abner Hixon of Archer Twp., Harrison County? Also, is this Archer Twp., the same as Archer Twp., Jefferson County, in 1804? If so, that would be interesting since another line of mine is from the same Twp., and they both moved to Gallia County. One other question. I am looking for a will or any kind of legal document that absolutely ties in George Tope II (b. 1782 d. 1828 ) to his son George W. Tope. I sent away a few months ago for the Court House to do a search and even sent a self addressed envelope with a request to let me know if they found anything, and still no word. George II, died of canal fever and may not have had time to establish a will. Any ideas what other documents there might be that I can use? Family histories all attest to this fact, but First Families doesn't accept family histories. Can someone please help? Thanks, Linda Tope Trent Notify Administrator about this message?
