Hi Penny,

Please accept my sincere apology for my misunderstanding; I had no idea that you could find wills, etc. This is not listed in Hancock County genweb as being a service you volunteered for. Your statement that there might be some other things you could check when you next went to the library went over my head. I was thinking directories, churches, etc. Never did I think wills/probate.Of course I am willing to reimburse you for any costs associated with the records you copied; I am extremely grateful for all you have done.

I honestly don't think Judy wants to copy records of this type, though she did agree to copy the pages for Mordecai. If you could look for any evidence of wills, cemeteries/death dates, for the other guys that would be fantastic. You mentioned Thomas as being a brother of Mordecai, and Peter and John as being old enough to be a parent of Jacob. None of these have been found in other sources.

I haven't found Jacob and Mary with their kids for 1850; not in IL, not in OH. I'm really thinking they lived with a Beck and their surname was given as Beck. I'm slowly weeding through all these entries; we know they didn't move to IL until 1858.

It is entirely possible that Jacob came to OH as an adult; likewise for Mary. But nothing has surfaced in censuses indicating this.

Any additional copies you make will of course be reimbursed.Just tell me where to send the money. We will need to go off-board so personal info is not left in cyberspace.
