I have Jacob Twining, born 1812 who lived in Hancock county. He married the widow Eliz. Adams. His one son, Henry Clay Twining, born 1844 married Harriet Renshler in 1868. Henry did not serve in the Civil War, however I have hound several Twinings who joined in Findlay & Toledo, OH. If anyone knows if they are sons of Jacob, and brothers of Henry, I'd love to hear from you.
In Co. A, 121st OH Infantry (Findlay):
Jacob Twining, age 23 when he joined in 1861
Joseph Twining, 28 when he joined in 1861
Thomas Twining, 28 when he joined in 1864
William Twining, 22 when he joined in 1861
*Jacob, Joseph, & Thomas joined on the same day in 1861. Jacob and Joseph died in the war.
In Co A, 111th OH Infantry (Toledo):
Charles Twining, 29 when he joined in 1863
Eli Twining, 23 when he joined 1863
*Both Charles and Eli joined on 12/22/1863. Both did not survive the war.
If you have any connections with these men, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks!
