death records, burials of indigents in Cincinnati 1940's

How can I locate a death record c. 1948 or find the burial place of my grandfather in Cincinnati? Previous queries have not turned up anything, but I have only his name and a "probable" date of death, "in or near" Cincinnati, OH.
Any suggestions?
