Pat, the city directories don't list women in the 1800s unless they are the head of household so I spent some time today searching for Thomas and John. Here's what I found: 1875 Thomas Hannon, molder, works 119 Hunt John C Hannon, shoe maker, boards southwest corner Willow and Goodloe 1876 Thomas Hannum, carpenter, 108 Eastern Ave John Hannon, laborer, 868 W 6th Street John Hannum, shoemaker, 21 Goodloe 1877 Thomas Hannon, molder, home 26 George John C Hannum, shoemaker, boards 21 Goodloe 1879 Thomas Hannon, Molder, 205 Elm Street John Hannum, shoemaker, 21 Goodloe 1881 Thomas Hannon, Molder, 205 Elm Street John Hannum, shoe fitter, 21 Goodloe 1883 - same as 1881 1884 Thomas Hannon, Molder, 406 W Court John Hannum, same as 1881 1885 John Hannum, shoe laster, 6 Litherbury St 1891 John Hannum, Broad & Morengo I didn't check further as I was getting tired but I did look to see if there was a death record for Thomas at this time. It was just a quick glance but I didn't see one. Don't know where he went but looks like he was in Cincinnati unil at least 1884. And it also looks like John may have changed the spelling of his name quite early on. Surely John C Hannon, shoe maker who boards at Willow and Goodloe in 1875 is the same person as John C Hannum, shoemaker who boards at 21 Goodloe in 1877 and thereafter. I'll try to remember to look next week to see if I find any other records of them. Notify Administrator about this message?
