Captain John Smith was from the Town of Manchester, Bennington County, VT.
He received military land in Ohio for his service.
His oldest son, Nathan Smith, claimed this land.
I was told years ago that that these records were still in Zanesville, OH.
John was a common name, but according to others, Nathan settled in Guernsey County when he came from Vermont. I see that Guernsey County was located in the south east corner of said Military Lands.
Does anyone have the address for the place that his these records?
MaryLu in Minnesota
