Sarah's surname is not listed in the Bidwell family Book 1587-1982. But here is what it does say about the family.
Seth Bidwell, bapt. 29 29 June 1797 Otsego Co., NY
Died 1830 Buffalo, Ohio,? Married Sarah in OH (her second marriage was to Charles Sayles) Sarah died 1867 and is buried at the Old Kendallville Cemetery located in Kendallville, IN.

Reuben Scott & his Family

Samuel Bidwell and brother settled on the farm, now known as the Reuben Westcott farm before 1795 and made a good improvement. They sold one farm to Stephen Jordan and the lease lot to Eli Rose. Jordan sold to Reuben Westcott of Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1814. Today it is owned by his Great Grandsons: Wellington and C. S. Morris.

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel enlisted in 1 Jan, 1776 in Capt. Ebenezer Sumners Company of Col. Samuel Wyllys Regiment in the Continental Army. He later transferred to Capt. Benjamin Pollard's Company of Col. Jonathan Brewer's Mass. State Regiment. He served untilnhis discharge in 31 Jan, 1777.

BIOGRAPHY: He participated in the battle of White Plains. He applied for a pension (application #R826).

BIOGRAPHY: His sons, Seth, Jacob, and Joseph were baptized 29 Jun, 1797 by the Rev. Daniel Nash, an early central NY Episcopal Minister. This baptism probably took place in Otsego CO, NY, where the family resided from about 1790-1810, Leter moving to Wayne CO, OH.

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel's estate amounted to 362 pounds, 3 shillings, and 3 pence. Joseph Driggs was appointed guardian of,Priscilla, dau. of Samuel Bidwell, late of Middletown, 2 Jun 1788. Nathan Sturr was appointed guardian of Oliver, a minor son of Samuel late of Middletown, 5 Mar, 1787. Samuel and Ashbel Bidwell (two oldest sons) were appointed administrators of Samuel of Middletown, deceased, 6 Jan. 1783.

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel was at Santo Domingo, W.I. when the Blacks rebelled and murdered the Whites. He had charge of a vessel there, and the rebels boarded it and threatened him with death if he did not give up the money of the ship. They held a knife to his throat three times, but he refused each time. At last they found the money and left. The vessel wrecked, but he arrived home safely.

BIOGRAPHY: Middletown Probate records, page 195; His brother Moses gave to heirs of Samuel, deceased, only brother of Moses and names the following children Samuel, Ashbell, Dorothy, Anne, Elizabeth, Irena, Priscilla, Amy, Hepzibah, and Oliver Bidwell.

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel settled at Middletown as early as 1680, and is buried at the Riverside Celetery in Middletown. From Middletown Town records Vol. 1, p. 81; Samuel sold land 18 March 1865 upon the east side of the river. He made his will 23 March 1715. It is in Probate Court Records at Hartford as is the inventory, Vol. 10, p. 31 and 175. He represented Middletown at the General Court in Hartford in January and October 1697, May and October 1698, and October 1703 and October 1705.

BIOGRAPHY: A Nathaniel Bidwell is mentioned as representing Middletown, CT at Hartford, at a General Court held May 1696, but as there was no Bidwell of that name except a son of Samuel, then only 16 years old, and as Samuel served the next year and for several years after, he must have been meant. Colonial Records of CT, 1706 to 1716, p. 208; the above is mentioned as an executor of Capt. Daniel Harris' will, 5 May 1712 (his father-in-law).

BIOGRAPHY: Hartford probate revords Vol. 8, p. 253, Abigail Bidwell of Middletown, widow of Samuel Bidwell, presented the will of her late husband, which was approved, etc., May 1680. The name of Samuel Bidwell first appears as a member of the Congregational Church of Middlwtown.

BIOGRAPHY: John Wilcox (father-in-law) d before 1666. John B was the sole executor for his mother-in-law, Mary Wilcox. Her will was dated 4 March 1668/1669 at hartford.

BIOGRAPHY: John B. was an early settler at Hartford, CT, and had 4 acres of land allotted him in the division of lands there in 1639. In 1640, he had a house lot north of Mary Betts, south of Seth Grant, and west of John Skinner on the east side of Trumbull Street near Pearl in Hartford. He owned a tan yard on an island in Little River, in what is now Bushnell's Park, south of Nathaniel Richards' house lot in 1640. In 1666 he had land allotted to him at East Hartford, his name is upon the monument erected in memory of the first settlers at Hartford. From the original records of the Second or Center Street Church of Hartford, John and his wife Sarah were members, dated Feb., 1672.
