Amos Stackhouse was a resident of Homer Township, Athens County, OH, in 1840.
On March 14, 1840, he married Mrs. Artymesa (Marshall)#1 -Preston, #2 - William Ford, #3 - Amos Stackhouse. She was about the same age as Mr. Ford and Mr. Stackhouse, so we are presuming she married these gentlemen to provide them with a companion & caregiver. (Artymesa is not listed with Amos on he 1840 census.)
According to the Pension Records, Amos served from NJ, came to Guernsey County, OH "for a time"; Received military land in Coshocton County, OH, (and in 1840 was in Athens County, OH.)
The pension records refer to his wife "Elizabeth" and his burial in Guernsey County, OH.
Does anyone show the death dates for Amos, Elizabeth, and Artymesa?
MaryLu in Minnesota
