Looking for data on this couple. James born 1798 poss.OH. Margaret Hannah his wife born 1799 poss. OH. Who were their parents??

James & Margaret had sons: James, Robert, Lawrence, John, Andrew, Alexander & Thomas. Daus. Martha, Henrietta, Mary Jane,Eliza. Often families named children for relatives & this family repeatedly used the names Thomas, Robert & Alexander in the suceeding generations. This may be a clue to the names of James & Margaret's fathers' names.

The Cherrys prob. were in Franklin Co., OH for a short time before eventually ending up in Whiteside Co., IL where James & Mgt died in the early 1840's. Their dau., Mary Jane mar. a Peter Hanna who was the son of Andrew Hanna & Ann Smith originally of Guernsey Co.later of Henry Co., IL.

It may be that Margaret Hannah Cherry is somehow related to Andrew Hanna as spellings of this name often varied & it was common place for families to travel west together & inter-marry with their cousins.
