Here is an idea that paid off. Try it.
I found graves of Gardiner Tubbs and family in Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn, NY last year.
Early this spring I made a note giving my name, address, phone and e-mail address plus a short narrative telling how I am related to Gardiner. I laminated it and riveted it to a plant stake. I mailed it to the cemetery and asked them to place it at the grave site. As I had found flowers at the site I knew someone was tending the graves and suspected if I got the note placed before Memorial Day I might be able to make contact.
Yesterday I got a phone call from those relatives in Ithaca, NY. They are descendants of Gardiner as well. It is a real thrill to make contact with them.
