Middle Run Baptist Church near Bellbrook, Ohio

Middle Run Primitive Baptist Church now has a "Friends" organization supporting it. The church and cemetery is located in Greene County near Warren County. The first church there was in 1799. Services there remained the same for over 200 years. Membership is needed by those who are interested in the history of this area and in the preservation of the components there. Early members were from Buckles, James, Chenoweth, Wilson, Gerard. Three cemeteries are there: pioneer part with the old church with many old soldiers and politicians, a newer part with
many burials from the Middle Run, Mt. Holly community
and the last part from the 1970's from the Scott farm.
Elder John Gerard's daughter Sarah was a founding member and her crumbling stone is here. Descendants of Sarah Gerard (Gerrard) Buckles are urged to help us preserve the history there. Please email me for details of membership.
A board has been set up and incorporation is in the works.
Dues paid now will be considered charter and not be asked again until January 2006. Emails should have the name Middle Run in it for I do not answer lots of my mail and might otherwise miss it. Mary Joan Cassidy. Membership Chairman for the Middle Run Primitive Baptist Church Preservation Association, Inc.
