I am hoping to contact descendants of the Wilmot family of East Claridon, to share data, photos, etc. There is a great deal of information about these Wilmots on the USGenWeb site for Geauga County, but I am putting out a special appeal here for photos of my ancestors. 1. Abraham Wilmot and Nancy Tuttle (NOT Turner) came from Cheshire, New Haven Co CT, about 1818 and settled in East Claridon Twp. Their children were Lucina, Esther, CHARLES, Lucius, Abram/Abraham, Emily Ann, Thomas. (Nancy Tuttle's mother was Lucy Johnson Tuttle Hitchcock - has anybody ever identified her Johnson parents in New Haven County? She is given a dob of 4 Mar 1779.) 2. Charles J. Wilmot and Arabella Moffett lived in Claridon Twp with three sons Hubert Howard, FRANK ARTHUR and Clarence. Arabella was daughter of Marcus Moffett and Harriet Plant and I have just recently identified Harriet's parents and siblings, through her father's estate file. 3. Frank Arthur Wilmot and Anna Louisa Brewster also lived in East Claridon Twp. Their sons were Charles Austin, Arthur Brewster, Walter Abram, Frank Ellis and Henry Edwin. Anna Louisa was descended from Elder William Brewster of the Mayflower, and also was a descendant of Alice Freeman Thompson Parke, whose royal ancestral lines are well documented and have been reaffirmed by Gary Boyd Roberts of the NEHGS. Frank Wilmot has a royal line of his own, through his ancestress Anne Lloyd Yale Eaton, early New Haven resident and also a subject of Mr. Roberts' research. If you are descended from these lines and can suggest where I might find photographs, I would appreciate very much hearing from you. I have cemetery photographs I would be happy to share, many from East Claridon - and others from Cleveland OH and New London Co CT (Anna Louisa Brewster Wilmot's ancestors). Thank you.
