My 2nd great grandmother was Jane (Jennie) Pratt born in Geauga Co. Ohio around 1846. She was adopted by Joseph Irish and Lucy (Keeney) Irish prior to 1850 (she is in the Irish home in the 1850 census). She married Frederick Meilicke in Minnesota.
I am trying to find her birth parents. Don't know if she was orphaned or illigitimate and just listed as "orphaned". If anyone has any informtion on her or access to the adoptions in Geauga from that time period I would be appreciative of any info.
