Checked the 1868 tax records today...found nothing...I think you needd to own property to appear on the book I checked.
Here is the info from the Ohio Civil War Soldiers book
Barnett Toliver at the age of 15
113th Regiment Ohio Vol Infantry
entered 8/20/1862 3 years
transfered to 18th V S Infantry 10/30/1863 where he formally enlisted
(I was writing and abbreviating ...can't recall what VS is? sorry...heh)
Charles Toliver at the age of 20
Unassigned Recruits US Colored Troups
March 13, 1865

let me know any census info like specific townships and i will look again next week
