John C. Newland was b. in Frederick Co., VA 1 Oct 1808 and d. in Waynesfield, Auglaize Co., OH 10 May 1879. He m. Clarissa Williams in Fayette Co., OH 12 Mar 1828. They had Elizabeth, b. 1830; Lucinda, 1832; Mary Ellen, 1833; Joseph W. 1834; Nancy Ann, 1836; Julia Ann, 1841; Cynthia, 1842 (d. 1850 Concord Twp.) John W., b. 1843-1846 and d. Auglaize Co., OH 26 Oct 1892; James M. & Elijah Newland.
