Miller Family VA>OH

Hi,

I'm researching the Godlove Miller family. Godlove Miller and Suzannah Sims were married in Madison County VA in 1812 and left for OH circa 1816. The lived for a short time in Circleville and then moved to Jefferson, Fayette County OH where they raised their family. My ggrandfather, James Washington Miller was part of this family. I recently found that there was land sold to 2 of his siblings when they were infants. The land remained in their name for at least 20 years. I've ordered land records to help see if I can figure out why this would have been done. It is unusual to have infants own land...I didn't even know it could be done.

Does anyone have any information on this family? Or anything that might shed light into infants owning land?

Sandy Norton
