Joseph,
I can't be of much help as I know little
about the Sain family. I do know that my
GGrandfather Jacob Sain Senft/Seniff/Sinift
was born in 1799 in Washington County,
Maryland. His Father was Jacob Sinift and
his mother was ? Sain Sinift.
She was the daughter of Phillip Sain and
his wife Catharine. The Senft family
came to Maryland from York County, Pa..
I was interested in your Pence surname as
the Patriarch of the Senft family was
Johann Phillip who came to America from
Germany in 1751. He married Anna Mary
Bens abt. 1754 in York, Pa.
(This name is spelled many ways such as Bins.
Bentz and I have read Penee is actually
the same name, just spelled differently.
I do not know if the Sain family was from
York Co., Pa.. I do know that several
families came to Perry/Fairfield Co.,Ohio
together, about 1803-06 and the Sinift
family (as it is spelled now) was Methodist.
I also know part of my Sinift family moved
at some point to Paulding County, Ohio
and I think they also moved to Berrien
County, Michigan which means we are
probably connected though I do not know
how and I know almost nothing about the
Sain family.
Sandy
