Have information dating back to 1650 on the family of Georg Michael Nees/Neese born 1821 in Hochstetten-Linkenheim, Baden, Germany, married Christine Pletsch on 3 Jun 1847 (she was born 27 Jan 1824), not known where she is buried or if she remarried as Georg Michael had an accidental death at age 54, shotgun discharged while climbing over a fence while hunting (note: Oakland Cemetery internment card has his last name spelled Kneis); had eight children: Theodor born 19 Aug 1847, Caroline Rosina born 8 Nov 1848, Karl Friedrich born 17 Nov 1850, Ludwig born 28 Sept 1856, Johanna born 12 Nov 1858, August born 9 Jun 1861 (my descendant, married Mary Hartman), Christine born 30 Jan 1864, Wilhelm, born 15 June 1866; family emigrated to USA 29 April 1867. Not sure if they came directly to this area (Huron(Portland),Erie Co., Sandusky, OH). Unknown where Theodor, Caroline Rosina, Karl Friedrich, Christine & Wilhelm settled? Visited the city of Hochstetten in 2001, farmland area a little southwest of Karlsruhe. Appreciate any info on those I have listed as unknown where settled. Happy to share my data with those interested.
