We are looking for information about Hampton Bishop (1836-1911) of Delaware Co. OH, his wife Sarah Jane Wollam, and their children, grandchildren, etc. We would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide and any corrections you can provide to the information given below that might be inaccurate.
Hampton A. Bishop was born Dec. 1836 in OH, the son of Iden Bishop and Matilda Walker. He died 30 Jan. 1911 in Liberty Township Delaware Co. OH. Like his father, Hampton was a stonemason.
Hampton Bishop married Sarah Jane Wollam on 5 Mar. 1865 in Delaware OH. She was born Feb. 1845 in OH, the daughter of Daniel Wollam and Leah Light who were born in OH. Hampton and Sarah Bishop had four sons: Iden, Allen, Martin, and Joseph.
1. Iden Bishop was born circa 1866 in Dublin, Franklin Co. OH. He died 3 Dec. 1939 in Springfield Clark Co. OH. He seems to have been single all his life. Does anyone have any additional information about Iden Bishop?
2. Allen Bishop was born Nov. 1869 in OH. In 1880, he is living with his parents but we lose track of him after that. When did Allem Bishop die? Did he ever marry or have any children? In he the Allen S. Bishop who died in Franklin Co. on 17 Jun. 1909? Perhaps someone has his obituary?
3. Martin Bishop was born 16 Nov. 1872 in OH. He died 24 Sep. 1953 in Union Co. OH. He married Jennie Theresa Bartholomai circa 1907 in OH. This was her 2nd marriage. She was born 9 Nov. 1867 in OH, the daughter of Tobias and Margaret Bartholomai. Her father was born May 1834 in Germany and her mother was born Jul. 1845 in OH. Both her paternal and maternal grandparents were born in Bavaria. Jennie Bartholomai Bishop died 7 Dec. 1958 in a long term care facility in Delaware Co. OH. We know of one child, Joseph W. Bishop. Did Martin and Jennie Bishop have any other children?
a. Joseph W. Bishop was born 3 Jan. 1909 in Marysville Union Co. OH. He died 27 Feb. 1945 in Union Co. OH. Did he ever marry or have any children?
4. Joseph Talton Bishop was born 9 Apr. 1884 in Delaware Co. OH. He is living with his parents in 1900 but we lose track of him after 1900. When and where did he die? Did he ever marry or have any children?
