I'm not sure where my Rose's came from, but believe they could well have lived in the Defiance Co, OH or one of the surrounding counties. Most of my relatives on this side of the family lived in Findlay, Oh, Defiance Co., Van Wert, Toledo, OH, etc.

I have very little information on Rose Ancestors. David Rose married Mary Elizabeth Murphy. They had a daughter, Martha Ellen Rose (b. 1843-1845), she md. John James Newton (5/22/1843-7/3/1910).
I noted a David Rose was in Civil War - M16 PA Cavalry & D47 PA Infantry. Filed Invalid Civil War Pension 2/17/1862 and a Mary E. filed for widows pension (yr. unreadable), she apparently lived in Indiana at this point.

I found a lot of Rose's in the Ohio Military Men 1917-1918, should you have anyone in this group.

Does any of this look familiar and match your Rose's? If so contact me. Marilyn
