A Joseph Henderson is listed as a grantee in the land patent records for Defiance County, Ohio in 1837 (Town 3 North, Range 5 East). The Joseph Henderson I'm looking for was a War of 1812 Veteran. He was born in Maine in 1791. His widow, Susannah (Story) Henderson in her pension application stated they had nine children. Six are enumerated in the 1850 Federal Census in Kent County, Michigan: Caroline, Jasper, Altany, Helen, Elvira, Louisa. All the children were born in Ohio. I'm looking for baptismal or birth records for these children. Joseph was one of the founder of the Congregational Church in Newaygo County, Michigan so I guess they might have been members of a Congregational or Methodist Church in Ohio.
