In 1880, Anderson and Augusta had 2 Ohio-born daughters, Edith 13 and Bernice 7.

In the 1900 and 1910 censuses Augusta said she was a widow and had 3 (of 3) living children. In those censuses, Augusta was a patient/inmate at Toledo State Hospital.

Bernice is in the 1900 Newville, DeKalb Co. census, married to John E. DAVIS:
head, John E., 31, b Feb 1869, md ?15 yrs, OH OH IN, farmer
wife, Bernice I., 27, b Jan 1873, 2 chn, 2 living, OH IN NY
dau, Elvah, 3, b Nov 1896, OH
son, Luther S., 2, b Dec 1897, OH

It's doubtful they were married 15 years, more likely 5 years.

On 30 Dec 1946, Bernice I. DAVIS died in Warren City Hospital, Warren, Trumbull, OH. She was born 15 Jan 1873 in West Milford, OH and was married to John E., age 78. The informant, L. S. Davis of Lockwood, OH said Bernice's father was A. P. SPENCER and her mother's maiden name was Augusta IRISH. Bernice was buried in Brownwood Cemetery, Bloomfield, OH.

I'm reasonably sure the informant was her son, Luther. He died 26 May 1998 in Ashtabula Co. OH, 100 years old. Contact
for a copy of his obit.

I am not related.
