Do you a death date for Lannie or Bessie? I didn't find either of them listed in the cemetery index. They either don't have tombstones or they were missed.....it happens. To check for death records I would email the Defiance Records Center at <recordcenter@defiance-county.com> and see if they have a date or dates for them. Then I would check the Defiance newspapers on microfilm at the library. Hicksville newspapers for this time period are not available, but a tragedy like this might be in the Defiance paper. The Genealogy Department at the Defiance library will do limited research. Maybe they could check the newspapers for you if you get a date.
