research trip to Defiance County - need info

We are making our first genealogical field trip to Defiance County. We are not familiar with the resources in the county. Does the library have a genealogical center? Where are the vital records held for the 1800's and early 1900's? Are things user friendly at the court house? Are there index's to vital records? Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.
