Joseph and Sarah GARLAND, born in Tennessee - WHERE?

Joseph was in Preble County in 1840 and he and wife Sarah were in Darke County in 1850. Both were born in Tennessee, but I am having a problem connecting them up with a Garland line in Tennessee.

Does anyone know where they came from in Tennessee?
