Joyce, I would love any info you have on the Barbers as I do not know much of anything, just a few names. I have very little info on the James and Susanna Dynes family like you just names, and a few tidbits here and there, but will get in touch with a cousin who might have more info on them. I will also have to go through some boxes of Family History I have.Susanna (Sylvanna, Sylvie, etc,I have seen several different variations of the name) was not James Dynes first wife. It seems he divorced his first wife according to something I ran across years ago at the Darke County Courthouse, and looking at dates Susanna was in the "family way" with my G-G-Grandfather Bennet Dynes by the time James was divorced from his first wife..... Do you know of any native american connection with the Barbers? My mother said Bennet Dynes (her G-Grandfather) always claimed he was part Indian, and when she spoke to her cousins, they confirmed they had heard that too. We always assumed it was through the Dynes connection but have never found anything to back it up. The 1850 Census of George and Susanna Barber(Susanna's parents) in Darke County claims that George was born in New York, and his wife Susanna was born in either New York or New Jersey. I could not read the writing on her birthdate. Any info you can pass along would be greatly appreciated! Jamie
