Karen- I agree with your thoughts about Elizabeth not being a Billingsly though I am not sure why I think so as my notes are not complete and when I was doing my research on the Hays I ran ino a question about the Billingsly name and marked my notes with just a question mark (thus proof that researchers should take and keep copius notes). Emma Kent is Emaline - that I am sure of, and her father was Samuel according to her death certificate. Emma married Julius G. Kent of Chagrin Falls (Cleveland) Ohio in Paris, Illinois (1868). She was a school teacher. How she met Julius is for me to find out. From your note I see why they married in Illinois. Emma died in 1934 in California at 90 years of age. Her Obit mentions two siblings both living in Colorado: Hyde (age 93 thus born about1841)and Charles (age 88 thus born about 1846). Charles fits into the 1850 census but Hyde does not unless she is either Mary Ellen or Eliza Ann. My notes also show that Samantha married Harry Davis Butters in 1889 in Leavenworth Kansas. I would guess we are researching the same family and I would appreciate any information you have collected. I am planning a trip to Ohio in the Spring and hope to find answers to many questions which I will gladly share with you. Gary
